Zena is our 12 year old German Shepherd resident. She came to us from a rescue group where she was involved in an improper home placement.
Zena was misunderstood and labeled dog aggressive when she was younger, but rather was lacking dog socialization at that time. At the sanctuary she developed her dog social skills with proper match making in play groups and allowed her to have consistent successful interaction.
Now Zena is the one who teaches other dogs how to be social and play when they lack those skills. She has become a "therapy dog for dogs" and is very happy with her role and contribution at the sanctuary!
Running in the yard, playing with as many dogs as she can, teaching other dogs how to be social, and her new partner Charlie, keep Zena "Safe and Sound."
